Editor's Note: Passing the Pen
In the two years since its creation, ImpactInk has covered a wide variety of timely political discussions, ranging from state accountability during political upheaval to the rights of indigenous peoples. In doing so, it has become a space for critical exploration of Bangladesh's non-profit, philanthropy, and social impact sectors.
I joined ImpactInk in late 2024 and was immediately drawn to its unique interpretation of coverage, offering a platform for readers to directly connect with experts who offer their analysis in a way that is accessible and educational. Coming from a background in History, this approach resonated with me as it offered in-depth analysis whilst reevaluating representation and the preservation of underrepresented communities.
For me, political discussions are a human study. An attempt to deconstruct and contextualize events, issues, and social phenomenons by adding in the voices of those most impacted. Moving forward, as I assume the role of Editor-in-Chief, ImpactInk will also operate with this understanding.
I want to thank Aftab Ahmed for shaping an innovative media platform and for shedding much-need light on Bangladesh. His foundational work on ImpactInk has made my new role an exciting one to step into and I hope you will join me in making ImpactInk a thriving community!
As always, thank you for supporting ImpactInk and BacharLorai.
